Rare publisher and cover design for this title. No date is present, this edition is circa 1885.  "With critical and explanatory notes, life of Dante and chronology"

Cover was originally a gilt scene showing winged Lucifer in repose.  As shown in the photos. the cover is very faded and worn. the binding has some issues and age and wear related damage. Inside portrait of Dante Alighieri does not have original tissue. All pages and plates are present although foxing is present throughout.
